Twenty years
after the triumph against the USSR at the EURO'88, Marco Van
Basten, then the star striker, now the manager, prepared for his
final fling, as his time on the bench of the Dutch team ends after

Basten has three of the most creative and attacking midfield talents
in Europe, Rafael van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder and Robin van
Persie, to join two vastly experienced star-quality players, Edwin
van der Sar and Ruud van Nistelrooy n their quest for the best
possible participation, and why not, a Euro'88 repeat.
