Twenty years after the triumph against the USSR at the EURO'88, Marco Van Basten, then the star striker, now the manager, prepared for his final fling, as his time on the bench of the Dutch team ends after the EURO'08 campaign.

Following Clarence Seedorf's decision to refuse joining the team, Van Basten has three of the most creative and attacking midfield talents in Europe, Rafael van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder and Robin van Persie, to join two vastly experienced star-quality players, Edwin van der Sar and Ruud van Nistelrooy n their quest for the best possible participation, and why not, a Euro'88 repeat.
