After a rollercoaster of a qualifying round, Turkey managed to qualify as 2nd of their group, behind Greece, and now on their 3rd appearance in the European Championships Finals, they seem determined to impress European football.Β

The "Emperor" of Turkish football, as manager and leader, Fatih Terim is called, wants this tournament to become a landmark for his nation's football history, and he is ready to show Europe his aggressive and passionate tactics. However, he surprised everyone when he omitted from the Euro 2008 squad, the 36-year-old local hero Hakan Şükür, the greatest footballer of Turkish history.
